The first one is in reference to the seals. First off, I believe that the NWA is a much better seal than the AMS. I like the stipulations one must meet. I really love the exam he or she must take before pursuing any further. However, I really wish they would raise the minimum score.
Second off, this is in reference to the ongoing saga about the Mississippi State Meteorology program.
I challenge anyone from any other Meteorology school in a forecasting contest. I'm from Mississippi State, and I feel I know just as much or more about forecasting than any grad from Penn State, Florida State, Purdue and so forth (not to single out any one college). This is just a friendly competition. And hopefully this will end some of the criticism about MSU!!! GO DAWGS!!!!
We can work around a few ground rules. A good idea would be to make this similar to the collegiate forecasting contest. The best thing to do is to find 10-15 people who may be interested and create a team. If we can, find a neutral person to send each forecast to, of course through email. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, put it on this forum. If enough people are interested then I'll put my email address on this forum so you can contact me.
If I don't hear any responses then I'll just assume that people in fact do recognize and respect Mississippi State University as a competent meteorology school.
That's all Tom!
