Tom,

I also wanted to tell you that we also have a little problem with the way the "official" temperature is recorded here in Little Rock. When either you, or the weather channel calls up the data for Little Rock..(LIT) the data is from the ASOS at Little Rock National Airport. NOT the OFFICIAL reporting station for Little Rock. That comes from from the National Weather Service Office in North Little Rock. Different city, twice the elevation. Depending on the thickness of the air mass you get all kinds of variations. For example..Officially we recorded our latest first freeze ever last month when we finally dropped below freezing at the Weather Service. In that case the cold air was very thick. But Little Rock National Airport and my house and most of the city had been below freezing many times before that. People would call and say I said it hadn't "officially frozen" yet and confusion would reign.

Turns out its all because of politics. The weather service moved to North Little Rock in 1975 because of many reasons, one being the fact that people in the neighborhood around the airport used to use the weather balloons for target practice.

Thought you'd get a kick out of this and just wanted to let you know Sacramento is not the only town with Temerature "Injustice"

Thanks,
Ed Buckner
