I am new to this web site and am writing about consultants being weather
friendly. I have worked with Magid now at two different stations and would
disagree with the unknown author. Magid's philosophy with us at both
stations has been "win with weather." Period. And they've backed it up
with volumes of research from our DMA. Since being here, we have become
the most aggressive weather station in the market. Leading a newscast with
any type of weather (from severe to "another nice day") is common. And
because of their influence we rarely are told "No" when it comes to a
weather story. If you are looking for consulting on what model to use in
what situation, I'm not sure any news consultant would help you out. But
in a time when our competition is cutting back on their weather department,
ours is steadily growing.
One other note regarding MSU. I am a graduate of the program and had to
work my butt off to do it. There were times when I received tutoring from
Penn State graduate students and they had to get help with problems I was
working on. Yes, certain students may slip through the cracks, but I spent
countless hours studying to earn my certification and am very proud of it.
Sincerely,

P.S. I have one question for Aaron Tuttle, when was the last time he used
"undular bore" in an on-air forecast?
